Sanitize.  Before you start any procedure you  must first sanitize yourself and your client.

  1. Preparing Nail For Tip Application

    1. Etch: Using the black portion of Galaxy's Combo Rocket File, etch the nail plate from north to south pushing back the cuticle at the same time.

    2. Dust: All dust must be removed from the nail plate.  The proper tool to use is a nylon manicuring brush.

    3. Balance: One squirt of Galaxy's Balance before primer disinfects and levels the ph of the nail plate.

    4. Prime: Using Galaxy Primer remember a little goes a long way.  Start by draining the excess primer off the brush, then moisten the entire nail avoiding contact with the skin.  Allow primer to dry completely.  Without using a blow dryer, fan or light, these appliances will only cause the primer to evaporate into the air not allowing it to go through it's entire chemical process.  Re-prime the nails a second time letting both coasts of primer dry completely to a white chalky finish.

    5. Size Up The Nails: The first step in efficiency is to size each finger with the appropriate tips.  Each finger must be sized individually because nail bed sizes vary (sometimes greatly) from the left to the right hand.

  2. Application of Tips

    1. When applying tips, do not use glue.  Glue will crystallize, losing almost all adhesion.  So use a small wet ball of pink acrylic, place near the cuticle area and stroke down over the natural nail as if you were doing an overlay.  Roll tip from free-edge down towards nail plate so that any excess acrylic will roll out the back.  Hold in place until stable.  Repeat this step on all ten nails.

  1. Application of Product Over the Tip

    1. Free-edge: Whenever applying product over a tip, use a smaller, wetter amount than you would use for a sculptured nail.  Using the Galaxy white powder place this ball near the free edge of the natural nail plate.  Work it up into the corners, creating your smile line (this is the definition line between the pink and white). (see diagram above).  Then pull the remaining product down over the tip.  Be sure the acrylic covers the entire tip.  Any uncovered tip will warp and change shape during wear.
    2. Cuticle Area: Using Galaxy pink or clear powder, apply the product in the cuticle area to fill in any low spots and stroke down to blend.
  2. File Nails

    1. Using the white portion of the Galaxy Combo File, shape the nail to the desired look.  First, shape the sides, then the free-edge and finish by shaping the top surfaces.  Using the gray side of the Combo file apply any finishing touches.

  3. BuffingUsing Galaxy's Terminator buffer, buff the entire surface being sure to remove any and all scratches from the nail.

Oil your clients cuticles using Galaxy's nourishing Almond Cuticle Oil. This will re-hydrate the skin and soften the cuticles.

Client scrub.  Have your client use a stiff pre-sterilized nylon manicure brush to remove all excess oil and debris.

  1. Liquid Glass:  Liquid Glass is a plastic sealer meant to wear over pink and white nails.  This is a UV protector and only takes two coats.  It dries in 120 seconds and looks as shiny as freshly cleaned glass.  Liquid Glass may not be used as a base coat or a top coat.

  2. Smudge Me Not Top Coat: Add a coat of Galaxy's Smudge Me Not top coat to finish your client beautifully over Liquid Glass or polish.  Smudge Me Not is non-yellowing, dries in under 3 minutes and can be used over Liquid Glass for a flawless finish and prevents the sticky finish caused by sunscreens, hair products, perfumes and other elements.
